The challenge
Younis & Co provide business advice and income tax, financial accounting, superannuation, auditing and assurance services to growing businesses. They are occasionally called on by clients who are outgrowing their entry-level business systems. These clients usually identify ‘pain points’ around needing more information or reporting capability than their existing systems deliver. The challenge and opportunity for Younis & Co is that while their partners and staff can clearly identify core record-keeping and accounting requirements, they cannot assess at-a-glance the special requirements of particular industries.
Without time-intensive additional research Younis & Co were unable to provide accurate advice to clients about which business software options and features to consider.
That is, until Partner, Naomi Mitchell, discovered ‘
The Empowerment Pack’, a unique system that helps accountants guide their clients to make a quality decision about whether to upgrade their systems, and if so, which features they will need.
Solution
Sybiz’s Empowerment Pack is comprised of a training session and manual that guides customers through a three-step process. In the first step, which takes around nine minutes, the client answers a series of questions that help them clarify whether they are about to, or have already, outgrown their business software systems.
Step two asks the client three valuable questions they should consider before evaluating options on the market. These questions, which include the ‘out-of-the-box’ question about what the client’s ‘dream solution’ would include, yield a surprising amount of quality information.
The final step provides direction to the accountant in the search for a business system that better suits the client’s needs.
Results
Naomi Mitchell comments that using the Empowerment Pack yields benefits for Younis & Co and its customers. From the client’s point of view, Younis & Co now provides the professional assistance they need to make an informed decision about whether to upgrade and, if so, which options to consider in their business systems.
For Younis & Co’s part, the Empowerment Pack is a quality business offering. It gives partners and staff a well-structured process that guides customers to make a sound decision without relying on the firm having specific knowledge of industry needs versus software options.
Importantly, it also strengthens Younis & Co’s position as advisor to its SME clients. ‘After all,’ comments Naomi, ‘if you’re not providing advice to your clients, someone else most assuredly will.’
