Introduction

Microgenics Diagnostics distributes medical testing equipment and reagents in Australia and New Zealand. Being responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of these essential items to the medical profession, they require immediate access to the right information. In addition to running the Australasian operation with varied currencies, they are also part of a larger US company and need flexibility in reporting across currencies in a format required by their US parent.

The challenge

Consolidating information across multiple states and countries is a big ask for any business software solution. Add the requirement to use specific rates each month and you’ll see why Microgenics Diagnostics needed more than most solutions could offer.

The requirement to create a Hyperion upload file in Microsoft Excel format, suitable for uploading to the US holding company’s system, added yet another level of complexity.

Solution

Results

Pandellis Hassos, accountant with Microgenics Diagnostics, says their new Sybiz solution coupled with the BIC has ‘saved days of consolidation work each month and has removed the reliance on just one person’.

Even though it took time to initially design the reports, that time and capital investment is now paying dividends. The customised and consolidated reports deliver precisely what Microgenics Diagnostics need to make sense of and communicate their continuing success.
